Important details before registering

  • After school programs are coordinated through PTSA and the vendors. These programs are NOT provided directly by PTSA. Please reach out to afterschool@westhillptsa.org with any questions.

  • After School programs at Westhill Elementary are ONLY open to Westhill students

  • Our after school programs are in high demand. There will be no refunds once you register your child.

  • If you decide the program isn’t the best fit for your child, no problem. You may drop the program at any time. You MUST notify afterschool@westhillptsa.org. Please note, you will NOT receive a refund.

  • We are unable to add students AFTER the start of classes.

  • A HUGE thanks to our after school program coordinators who volunteer their time to allow our PTSA to partner for after school programs. We would love to expand this team- please reach out to afterschool@westhillptsa.org or president@westhillptsa.org if you’d like to volunteer!

Fall 2026 After School Programs

  • Orlov Chess Academy (Grades 1-5)

    Designed for students who already possess basic knowledge of chess moves and rules (beginners can review free instructional videos on ChessKid prior to starting). Each class begins with a lesson covering openings, tactics, and checkmating patterns, followed by puzzle-solving and supervised gameplay paired by skill level or with friends.

    Day & Time: Mondays, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

  • Girl Scouts (Grades 1 & 3)

    Build courage, confidence, and character through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

    Day & Time: Mondays, 4:00-5:00 PM

    Dates: September 21 - June 14

    Location: P1

    Registration: This program is a continuation for students previously enrolled in Girl Scouts. No additional registration is required for current Girl Scouts. Please fill out an interest form to be added to the waitlist.

  • Basketball (Grades 1-5)

    An energetic skill-building program focusing on the fundamentals of basketball, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. Students will build confidence, learn sportsmanship, and practice teamwork through active drills and friendly scrimmages. Come learn basic basketball fundamentals, develop your skills, and play real live games with Westhill parent,  Bothell High school graduate, and former varsity head coach, Erin Berger.

  • Drama: A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS! (Grades 2-5)

    Based on the beloved children’s books, this whimsical musical follows Frog and Toad through four seasons of friendship and fun. Performers will develop skills in singing, acting, and dancing while building stage presence and creativity. With engaging ensemble roles for every student, participants will experience what it takes to bring a musical from rehearsal to the stage.

  • iCode: Junior (Grades K-2) & Senior (Grades 3-5)

    A hands-on, interactive technology program designed to build computational thinking, problem-solving, and creative skills. Students are divided by age group to ensure age-appropriate learning:

    • Grades K–2: STEAM Innovators: Junior Robotics, Scratch, Electricity & Makey Makey. Focuses on foundational logic, introductory block-based coding, and interactive robotics to introduce core STEM concepts.

    • Grades 3–5:Algorithms, AI & Data Science

      In this STEAM course, students will explore how computers process information, make decisions, and learn from data. They will build programs, discover how algorithms work, analyze data, and experiment with beginner-friendly AI concepts through hands-on projects and activities.
